About

Seoul Sourced exists because buying Korean products from outside Korea is needlessly confusing, and almost nobody explains the parts that actually cost you money.

Which album version has the photocard you want. Whether a retailer’s “free shipping” survives contact with customs. Why the same photocard sells for $6 in one place and $300 in another. Whether the skincare you just ordered is genuine. What a lightstick version number actually changes. These are answerable questions, and most of the pages that come up when you search them are guesses.

Who writes this

I’m Bill, based in Vancouver, Canada. My day job is consumer-goods sourcing and distribution — I import product, negotiate with suppliers, and spend an unreasonable amount of time on customs classifications, barcode catalogs, landed cost, and figuring out whether a given product is actually what the listing says it is.

That background is the whole reason this site is worth reading. The import mechanics that confuse fans — duty thresholds, de minimis rules, brokerage fees, why a $40 order suddenly costs $67 — are the mechanics I work with professionally. The authenticity questions are the same ones I ask about supplier samples.

How this site works

  • Real orders, real receipts. When I say a shipment cost a certain amount in duty, it’s because I paid it. Screenshots are from my own orders.
  • Own photography. Every product image here is one I took. No press photos, no reposted fan content.
  • Prices are dated. Korean retail pricing and shipping rates move. Anything with a number attached says when it was checked.
  • Corrections get made. If something here is wrong, tell me and I’ll fix it and say what changed.

What we cover

  • Buying & Importing — retailers, shipping methods, customs, what things actually land at
  • Photocards — authenticity, pricing, condition, storage
  • Concerts & Tours — ticketing systems, venue guides, official merchandise
  • Seoul & Travel — where to actually buy things in person
  • K-Beauty — direct-from-Korea versus local retail, counterfeits, batch codes
