Single’s Inferno premiered on Netflix in December 2021 and turned twelve relative unknowns into some of the most-followed people in Korea. Four and a half years later, one of them has married a K-pop star, one survived a career-ending scandal and came back, and none of the three couples who left the island together are still a couple.
Here is where the entire Season 1 cast stands in 2026.

What happened to the couples?
Three pairs left Inferno together in the finale:
- Song Ji-a and Kim Hyeon-joong
- Shin Ji-yeon and Moon Se-hoon
- Kang So-yeon and Oh Jin-taek
None of them lasted. All three pairs split within months of the finale airing, and as of 2026 no Season 1 couple is together.
What did last is the friendships. Moon Se-hoon and Cha Hyun-seung have kept up a very public bromance, cast members have turned up at each other’s businesses, and Song Ji-a and Kim Hyeon-joong have both said they stayed on good terms after the breakup.
Choi Si-hun married Ailee
The biggest post-show development, and the one that genuinely surprised people.
Choi Si-hun spent Season 1 pursuing Song Ji-a and left the island alone. In November 2024, Ailee’s agency A2Z Entertainment announced that the singer and Choi Si-hun were in a relationship and planning to marry. They wed on 20 April 2025 in a ceremony attended by a long list of industry names.
Ailee is one of the most established vocalists in Korean pop, which makes this comfortably the highest-profile pairing to come out of the franchise — and it happened entirely off-screen. Choi Si-hun has also continued acting since the show, appearing in web dramas.
Song Ji-a: the scandal and the comeback
Song Ji-a — known online as Free Zia — was the breakout star of Season 1 and became the most talked-about cast member almost immediately.
Then in January 2022, weeks after the finale, viewers identified that several luxury items she had worn on and off the show were counterfeit. She posted an apology video acknowledging the fakes and accepting fault, then halted all online activity.
She returned to YouTube roughly five months later, in June 2022, with a video explaining the silence. Since then she has rebuilt steadily as a lifestyle creator with a noticeably more understated style than the one that got her into trouble, and remains active on her channel in 2026.
It is one of the few genuine cancellation-and-recovery arcs in Korean influencer culture, which is probably why people still search for it four years on.
Everyone else, one by one
Shin Ji-yeon
A neuroscience student at the University of Toronto during filming, and the cast member most pursued on the island. She has since become one of the most-followed people from the franchise, with over a million Instagram followers, and puts most of her output into travel vlogs on YouTube. She and Moon Se-hoon didn’t work out romantically but have stayed friendly.
Kang So-yeon
At 33 she was the oldest cast member, and a competitive boxer. She still trains and runs a boxing gym, and has built one of the largest followings of anyone from Season 1 on the back of fashion and cosmetics brand work. Her relationship with Oh Jin-taek ended shortly after filming.
Moon Se-hoon
Already a restaurant owner when he went on the show, and has expanded considerably since — multiple restaurants and business interests, plus modelling work. Cast members have made a running joke of visiting his restaurants, which has been good for both his profile and his bookings.
Oh Jin-taek
Co-founder of the suit shop Ascottage, and still running it. He remains active on Instagram with a substantial following and has been reported to be in a relationship since the show.
Cha Hyun-seung
The professional dancer of the group, and the cast member who has stayed closest to the franchise. He runs his own YouTube channel where Single’s Inferno alumni frequently appear to talk about the show, which has kept him visible well past the usual reality-TV shelf life.
Kim Hyeon-joong
A fitness trainer and model who pursued Song Ji-a throughout the season and left the island with her. The relationship ended, but the two have both indicated they remained friends. He is still working as a trainer and model and is single.
Ahn Ye-won
A Pilates and fitness instructor on the show, and still working in modelling with a focus on athletic and activewear brands.
Kim Jun-sik, Kim Su-min and Seong Min-ji
The three cast members who stepped back furthest from public life. Kim Jun-sik represented a health food brand during filming; Kim Su-min joined as a late arrival; Seong Min-ji was working as a beauty and apparel model. None has pursued the influencer route the way the rest of the cast did, and all three keep a relatively low profile.

Common questions
Are any Single’s Inferno Season 1 couples still together?
No. All three couples who left the island together had split by 2026. The only cast member currently married is Choi Si-hun, who left the show single and married singer Ailee in 2025.
What happened to Song Ji-a?
She was found to have worn counterfeit luxury goods on and off the show, apologised publicly in January 2022, and paused all online activity. She returned to YouTube in June 2022 and has been active since.
